I apologize for not writing.

Last night, Chris Padgett of Scarecrow and Tinmen came to talk to the Catholic Campus Center. He talked about his conversion, sang a few songs and even led the music for mass. Tim Mason, President of Onerock, asked me to get an interview with him.After his talk, I asked him a few questions, but was unable to finish my interview because Shawn wanted everyone to pause for a pizza break. After we all ate, he sang a few songs and led us in a bit of praise and worship. I think everyone responded well to his talk. I'm certainly glad I recorded the whole thing.

Unfortunately, I now have the unhappy task of transposing everything he said on the tape into a coherent interview. It took me two hours to just type the small 45 second blip that Mary Beth Bonacci said in response to my question on Catholic Answers Live, now I have almost 10 minutes to transpose! I better get typing.

He gave me a free copy of his new solo CD, Golden, and said he really enjoyed my singing voice. He told me to email him with anything else I might want to ask him. Since a few songs of his are about to be bought by the evil OCP, I might ask him some liturgical music.

If you have any questions you think I could ask him, don't be afraid to leave them in my comment box. I highly recommend his CD and any work he's done with Scarecrow and Tinmen.

This is the response to Steven Riddle's interview questions . All of my answers are in bold, except for the last question because I wanted special attention paid to the italics area. Anyway, I just wrote it up without really editing it. Hopefully, I haven't made too many goofs or mispoken on something. Hope you enjoy!

(1) You seem to be in the process of discerning a vocation. Who have you turned to for help in the discernment process? What would you advise others in a similar situation?

I can't say that I've turned to one specific person for help in my discernment process. I would say that my devotion to the saints, St. Anthony of Padua in particular, has helped. Various people, such as priests, friends and a reasonable lack of objection from my parents has helped. Fr. Bob Lewandowski, a man who's passing I blogged about recently, was certainly instrumental in getting me going. I think I've been fortunate to have the right people around me. I know some have to literally hide their vocation materials from their parents and sneak off to Come and See weekends because their parents don't approve of their vocation search. Even if I don't become a priest, I'm happy that I've had the support that I feel I've needed.

For those discerning vocations, I'd say that the first thing one must do is center his or her life around prayer. Specifically, find a devotional that suits you. I have a devotion to Eucharistic Adoration, the Blessed Mother, and all saints, especially confirmation patrons. My confirmation patron is St. Anthony of Padua, and I pray to him for more than just finding lost things.

Today is the Memorial of the Gaurdian Angels. Don't forget to give yours mad props for protecting you and guiding you, even when you weren't aware of it. Mine has kept me from being hit by many cars, and has beaten me with the 'conscience stick' many a time. I don't know where I'd be without him. Most likely, probably in hell. I also pray to the gaurdian angels of my friends when I see they're in distress.

Gaurdian Angel, I love you. Protect my soul always and never let me be put astray. Keep me from all physical, mental and spiritual harm. I thank you for delivering me from harm even when I was not aware of any danger. Thank you for lighting my path to heaven. Gaurdian Angel, I entrust you to Our Lady, who is the Queen of Angels. May she give you even more strength through her intercession, and with that new strength, continue to guide me in the way of Christ. Lead me to deeper devotion to the Eucharist and a greater love for the Church. For this, I pray:

Angel of God,
my guardian dear,
To whom God's love commits me here;
Ever this (day, night) be at my side,
To light and guard, to rule and guide.
Amen.

I passed my History test with a C. I'm not happy about it, but I'm counting my blessings because I didn't even deserve it due to my lack of studying. While God gave me a gift for absorbing large chunks of information in short amounts of time, I've learned my lesson, and will try not to depend on my last minute prayers to St. Jude and St. Joseph of Cupertino to always come through.

I got a number from the girl who sits next to me in history. I'll try to set up a time to study with her for the geography test which I have to take before October 27th. I'm pretty sure that I'm doing well in all my classes so far. Please keep me in your prayers if you read this blog. I really want to do well in college this time.

Also, on a smaller note: Someone pray that I find my Miraculous Medal. I lost it, and would really like to find it soon.
