This was from September 2003. It is a copy of my autobiographical sketch which I sent to the Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word.
I should probably get around to writing them again.
Just remember, that a gallon of gas is still cheaper than a gallon of Starbuck's coffee.
I watched Sesame Street the other day, and I forgot that whenever the Count counted, that there was thunder. Snuffaluffagus was trying to fly away, and there was a balloon fairy who was making balloons appear and the Count kept counting the balloons, and it started thundering and I thought, "Aww, snuffaluffagus won't be able to fly because of the thunderstorm."
I also found it odd that nobody was saying anything about snuffy's impending electrical doom. Nobody was saying "Hey, umm, maybe flying isn't the best idea right now..."
And then the balloon fairy's wand broke, and I was like, "Oh, thank God!"
They say when you don't know what to write, the best thing to do is keep writing. However, I feel like I have nothing to add to the observations about hurricane Katrina that somebody else has not said better. The only thing I could add is how I feel about it, and I have been dwelling on those bitter emotions long enough to where they are no longer interesting.
I am a man with big ideas, but I have to use the resources I have. I do not have much pull in the blogger arena, but I do what I can. So, of course, I ask that you all pray for those affected by this disaster. Also donate to the organization of your choice. If you are a student at a university, donate wherever you see collections being made. Finally, try to find a way to get your spirits up. With so much bad news going on, a great good must be coming.
Today my father turned 50 years old. This means that when I was born, he was only two years older than I am now. *sigh*
Please pray for my father on this happy day, that he may enjoy better health in the future, and that he live a good Christian life.
