Fr. Jim Tucker comments on the rending of the veil in the temple. One of the more interesting interpretations I've heard of this came from my father. He noted that Jewish men, after losing their sons, will rend their garments. They'll tear their shirts.
Here, after the death of His son, God rends his garments.

I made a promise to myself not to blog about work, but I have to get this out.
I worked from 3 PM to 12:30 PM last night. As a cashier, we have a book of codes that we punch in for the various produce. Produce usually doesn't have a bar code. 4087 is for roma tomatoes, 4080 is for asparagus...
I was asking a woman if what she had was green leaf lettuce. I looked at her, and asked very nicely, "4076...er, green leaf lettuce?"
There are a couple of things I've observed as a cashier. First: Women do make things difficult. They're the ones who always have their stuff organized on the belt, and they want everything bagged a certain way. Trust me, I just want to get you out of the store and on the way home as soon as possible. I ALWAYS bag the raw meats seperately!
Also, do not tell me to put all your chinese food products in one bag, or I will be tempted to make fun of you. I WILL give in to that temptation. This lady did exactly that. She also didn't want to put the 12 can box of Coke she had on the belt. Apparently, it was too heavy. So, she lifts it up, and says, "Is this okay?" I say, "It would be, if you'd show me the barcode." "Oh" So, she starts turning it. I just say, "I can find it." I take it from her, scan it, and give it back. Seriously, all she had to do was put the stupid thing on the belt.
I shouldn't generalize, it isn't ALL women who do that sort of thing. Typically the ones who do that are rude, stupid and usually baby boomers. What a worthless bunch of unhappy old women.
Anyway.
I like kids better than adults, because at least children are incapable of being stupid. They can be messy, ignorant, annoying, loud and even troublesome, but they are not stupid. I think that's why Jesus really liked children. They are incapable of the stupidity that we adults are prone to.

I feel called to not give my tithing to my local parish. While I find nothing particularly wrong with my parish, aside from a few liturgical pet peeves, I just feel my money would be better spent elsewhere. The parish is filled with 'well to dos' and I really don't feel they need my contribution.
I've decided to either contribute my money to help Fr. Gee's new school, or to save up to buy the silk brocade for the Whapsters.
I must do my part to promote good liturgy. My heart tells me to not only stop being silent when I see abuse, but also to promote good liturgy through my actions.
I talked to Fr. Anthony Mary, MFVA last night. After a brief conversation, he told me he'd like to wait one whole year before talking to me about joining the community. He said that some issues were my weight, and my debts. Also, he said that he'd like to see some consistency as far as school and work. All of these are completely understandable, and I look on the time before entering the community as a gift. It gives me times to clear some things out, make myself a healthier person, and become a better person spiritually and mentally.

Anyway, I love my blogtone. It evokes a "Earth, Wind and Fire" feel. Especially from their song, "In the Stone" which of course, totally rocks.
Today, has been hectic. I work as a cashier for a particular corporation that I will not name for job security's sake. People get fired for naming where they work.
It's good to be working. I tithed this past Sunday for the first time, and I feel like I'm finally contributing a bit of something to my parish. I've realized that there are some study questions on the back of the papal encyclical I'm reading.
I think I'll start posting my answers up here.
Everyone longs to give himself completely to someone, to have a deep soul relationship with another, to be loved thoroughly and exclusively. But God, to the Christian says, "No, not until you are satisfied with living for Me and being loved by Me alone and having an intensely personal and unique relationship with Me alone. Thanks for your kind words.
I admit that the URL for Sancta Sanctis is a bit difficult. When I started 'blogging, I didn't think that I'd get any readers at all. My original intention was to link all the fascinating sites and articles I ran across, with some thoughts on each one, so that I'd have a handy personal resource for when I become a teacher. Well, I guess Antony had other plans!
Since you've mentioned Confirmation patrons, I'd like to ask you a related question. When I was confirmed, nobody told me about the practice of choosing a Confirmation saint and taking his or her name. I didn't learn about this devotion until many years later. Of course, I felt immensely cheated. After ranting and raving a bit, I had the idea of giving myself a Confirmation saint and name anyway, by looking up the saints whose memorials are on my Confirmation date. (I don't know if this is allowed, but it was the only thing that even remotely calmed me down.)
Having just reverted back to the faith, I couldn't even remember my Confirmation date and had to call an old friend who was confirmed at the same time to ask about it. She checked her Confirmation card and said that we were confirmed on 19 July. I looked up the saints for that day, discovered St. Macrina the Younger, considered my Confirmation name Macrina, and let it rest.
Unfortunately, it was not going to be that easy. A few months later, my family unearthed some old photographs. Two of them were taken during my Confirmation and both of them were dated 18 July. Oh, the frustration!
I've shared this story with Fr. O'Brien, who said many people take their baptismal names as their confirmation names anyway, so I can stick with Cristina. I still feel cheated, however.
Sorry for being so long-winded. Now here is my question: can I _still_ have a Confirmation patron, even this long after the sacrament was administered?

A happy Easter and Easter season to all of you.
I have a job working as a cashier now. Praise to God, my prayers have been answered.
Also, tomorrow, will start my month of preparation to reconsecrate myself to the Blessed Virgin Mary as a Knight of the Militia Immaculata. My first meditational reading will be, Defining the Dogma of the Immaculate Conception by Pope Pius IX. Since it is the 150th year of the declaration of the Immaculate Conception, I feel this will be appropriate reading. Also, I'm hoping to go to meet the Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word in Alabama around my birthday, God willing, my week there will happen during the week of my birthday so I can consecrate myself there among the Franciscans.
I was consecrated to Our Lady on the Feast of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament. Also, it is the feast day of Our Lady of Fatima. Finally, it also happened to be the day that I was born. May 13th.
It will be exciting. I hope I can get back into the swing of writing daily like I used to. It was a nice break, but I did miss telling what was going on in my day.
