Novena Day 4 or 5

|

The text for the Novena will be the same every day, on the feast day, I will post the extra prayers to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel on the back of the book. I don't think it's necessary to have the same prayer over and over again...

On Friday, I went to Eucharistic Adoration. I try to visit Jesus at least once a week for 30 minutes, and it's always followed with confession, Rosary, and Mass. So, I've become quite used to being around Jesus for long periods of time.

This Friday, the Adoration was paired with a concert by Michael John Poirier. He likes my harmony, and he is a man with a good heart, so I always oblige. Even so, whenever I do adoration with him, I'm not prone to over emotion. This Friday was different, and I found myself crying.

I wasn't crying over sadness, or any bad thing that had happened to me. I think I cried because I was finally letting go of all the secret things that I bore in my heart. Even the things that weren't so secret, the joys, the sufferings, everything I had, I was finally able to let it go. I left my friends, my family, my physical, spiritual and mental suffering up there as an offering to Jesus, and it was so relaxing. I'm not naïve enough to think that the feeling will last forever, but I am thankful for the small gift of peace that has been granted to me for this short while.

Thank you Jesus.

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Novena Prayer (I)

The Lord Has blessed you, Mary, for from you we have received the Fruit of Life. You alone, without an equal, have pleased our Lord Jesus Christ. Reject not our prayers in our needs, and deliver us from all dangers, holy Mother of God.

Hail Mary...

You have visited the earth and have plentifully showered it with blessings; you have enriched it in many ways (Ps. 44:10 )

Hail Mary...

Mary speaks:

"I walk in the way of justice, in the midst of the paths of judgement, that I may enrich them that love me, and may fill their treasures"(Prov. 8:20)

Hymn - Ave Regina Coelorum

HAIL, O Queen of Heav'n enthron'd,
Hail, by angels Mistress own'd
Root of Jesse, Gate of morn,
Whence the world's true light was born.

Glorious Virgin, joy to thee,
Lovliest whom in Heaven they see,
Fairest thou where all are fair!
Plead with Christ our sins to spare.

V. Pray for us, holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Prayer

O God, You were pleased to honor the Order of Carmel by the singular title of Your most Blessed Mother, Mary ever Virgin; grant, we beg of You, that she whose memory we solemnly venerate today may favor us with her protection so that we may be found worthy to share in eternal happiness. Who live and reign forever. Amen.

Sign of the Cross

I am saying a novena for Sr. Carrie Comitz' clothing ceremony, which will be held on the feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. This is a special way for me to offer something back of all the prayers that she has offered on my behalf. Anytime I asked Sr. Carrie for prayers, she always told me, "Be assured!" Well, I have been, and if you'd like to pray this novena for your own special intentions, by all means, join me. Just click on the link after the Sign of the cross to begin.

I just helped my brother add Haloscan comments to his blog, so it's easier to comment on his posts of the day. I think his blog looks pretty promising, but I'm biased.

My brother, Samuel, has started his first blog. Please, visit him, and welcome him in his first post. I helped him come up with the name.
